Sometimes when you really want to find something, you just have to Google it. That is definitely true for searching hard to find data. In fact, for some tough searches we found ourselves going over to Google, with our searches linking back to www.swivel.com. Well, after we do anything like that a few times, we often realize we need to build it into Swivel. So, we are happy to announce that in addition to our homemade search engine we are now making Google Custom Search available as the default search for Swivel. Our homemade search will still be available for all of its fans. Please let us know if you see any additional areas for improvement with search.

I think this is a very smart move. I have a custom search engine for Data Visualization @ http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=015508547728725058312%3Ae72-8qt96bi&hl=en and when I added Swivel, the results became much more interesting. The search engine went from being sort of dry academic type to a juicy full of interesting data type very quick.
