Here's to your health

Croc We are happy to announce that the World Health Organization has joined our official source program. So far they have submitted data on topics as diverse as HIV deaths to how many kids sleep under mosquito nets or use tobacco.

The world is getting smaller in terms of global health. In this day and age, what affects people in one part of world will affect us all – whether it’s SARS, bird flu or MDR-TB.

Access to the best health data is a critical component of improving population health. Today many philanthropists, policymakers, scientists, practitioners, and students lack access to even the most basic data needed to inform debate and to assess priorities for public health. Whether you are a student in Mexico, a health worker in Tanzania, or an interested citizen in France, there is no easy way to discover what data are available on a particular health issue. And with WHO making their data more broadly available on Swivel, we hope to change this.

Therefore, we are thrilled to welcome WHO – and their data – into the Swivel family.

Congratz guys. Great to see the 'official source' program gaining more traction. I think links like this are great. Swivel as a source of all types of official data would be an unbelievable resource.

On a side note, Sara, I sent a couple of emails to you, just wanted to make sure they got through. If they did, cool and thanks. If not, not too sure what happened.

Congratulations!
